Tanzania Equity Watch | 17 July 2015: Tanzania Stock the week bullish … investors gains US$70 million and indices up
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (Capital Markets in Africa):- The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSEI) advanced by 16.30 points or 0.63 percent to close at 2,622.36 points and the Tanzanian domestic Share Index rose by 2.17 points or 0.05 percent to close at 4,563.65 points. Likewise, the industrial & Allied sector index and Commercial Services sector index remained gained 0.01 percent and 2.69 percent respectively. However, Banks, Finance & Investment (BI) sector index fell by 0.21 percent to close at 6,097.68 points.
The market capitalization was recorded at TZS 22,952 billion, by adding TZS 145.5 billion (US$70 million) against TZS 22,807 billion recorded yesterday.
On the market activity, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange recorded a total turnover of TZS 235.54 million from 187,024 shares traded in 78 deals compared to the previous session which recorded a turnover of TZS 958.67 million from 260,944 shares traded in 52 deals. CRDB had 163,700 shares; National Microfinance Bank traded 6,698 shares and Tanzania Breweries Limited recorded 5.060 traded stocks.
The market strength ended in positive, with 7 gainer and 3 losers. Uchumi Supermarket Limited surged by 6.25 percent to end at TZS 170.00, News Media Group added 4.21 percent to close at TZS 3,960.00 and SWISSPORT Tanzania Limited advanced by 3.47 percent to trade at TZS 7,450.00. KCB Group also rose by 2.78 percent at TZS 1,110.00; East African Breweries Limited rose by 1.76 percent at TZS 5,790 and TOL Gases Limited accelerated by 1.59 percent to settle at TZS 675.00.
On the other hand, Kenya Airways, ACACIA Mining Limited and National Microfinance Bank plunged by 7.14 percent at TZS 130.00, 1.41 percent at TZS 9,070 and 0.33 percent at TZS 2,990 respectively.
